€14 Million Jackpot Claimed

A very happy couple from Glenageary, Co. Dublin collected their cheque for €14,530,193, the fifth largest Lotto jackpot since the game began in 1988.
The lucky couplewho wish their win to remain a private one, only found out they held the winning ticket on the Monday after the draw.
‘I didn’t even know my wife had bought a ticket for that draw. I had phoned her from work that day. The lads in work had been talking about the big jackpot having been won in Glenageary and the ticket was purchased in the local Spar – that’s where we do our shopping. She said ‘I bought our ticket there’. She said she’d check it on the Internet. Shortly after, she called me back and said that she’d checked and checked and checked and it looked like we had the winning ticket. I said ‘that’s impossible – check it again’," the Husband explained
The lucky wife took up the story:
‘So I checked the numbers again and again and nothing had changed. It was still the same ticket, still the same numbers and yes, we had won this fantastic jackpot’, smiled the lucky wife over a glass of champagne in National Lottery offices.
The happy couple decided to spend some time getting over the surprise of it all, and consider their options, before they came to collect their jackpot.
‘We wanted to get used to it, to the whole idea of it, and part of us couldn’t believe it was true. We consoled ourselves with the fact that no one else had claimed it in the meantime so we felt sure then that it was ours. We kept thinking ‘it could be you. and now it’s us’, they added
