More Good Economic News Growth Predicted For 2011
Updated : May 15, 2009
VeryHappyPig has more good economic news after the ESRI claimed today that the Irish economy could return to strong growth in 2011 if the country's competitiveness is restored.
In a new assessment out today, the economic think tank says the forecast is dependent on the implementation of the measures announced in last month's emergency budget.
It also says wages and costs will have to come down significantly if Ireland is to take advantage of an expected upturn in the global economy during the coming years.
Elsewhere, the ESRI says it expects unemployment to hit 17% next year, but this could fall back to 6-7% by 2015 if there is an economic recovery.
