VeryHappyPig’s grandfather used to remark that ‘one mans rubbish is another mans treasure,’ and an Irish couple have recently proved their certainly is money in rubbish.
The lucky couple scooped a lottery windfall with a ticket recovered from the bin.
Rachel Carton and Raymond Orr were nigh on €25,000 richer for nearly two months without realising it as they threw away there lottery ticket.
The fortunate pair, who were nearly very unlucky, only discovered they had winning numbers after Rachel check the tickets she had recovered from the bin in the local newsagents in Donegal.
“The money will help clear some of the little wee debts every family has while it will also allow us to go on a good family holiday,†Rachel explained.
