Irish People Live Longer Than Ever Before
Updated : Jun 4, 2009
The HSE says the health of the Irish population is better than ever before.
In a report out today, the organisation says life expectancy has increased by around three years over the course of a decade.
Irish people now live longer than the EU average, when they used to be close to the bottom of the table.
The HSE says this poses its own challenges for the health services in dealing with chronic illnesses that would previously have reduced life expectancy.
