A €7m swimming pool complex could be on the cards for Loughlinstown.
Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has just taken the first step towards developing the facility.
The brief calls for a 25m, six-lane swimming pool with associated plant and ancillary services at Loughlinstown Leisure Centre. There will also be a "village" and team changing rooms according to the Evening Herald.
The notice was published on the e-tenders website. The contract will need to be completed within nine months of it being awarded.
A spokeswoman for Dun Laoghaire County Council told the Herald: "The new pool complex would complement the existing facilities at Loughlinstown leisure centre.
"The centre is owned by DLRCC, and managed by DLR Leisure Services on behalf of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.
"It has been open 20 years and is a very popular local amenity. There is no swimming pool there at the moment."
