The Spice Girl's Reality Show Could Be On Track!
Updated : Oct 22, 2009
The Spice Girls are reported to be following in the footsteps of Simon Cowell and Andrew Lloyd Webber to launch a reality TV talent show.
According to The Sun, Mel B has been hinting that the gang will get back together and rather than team up for another world tour, the girls want to branch out into television.
They're planning a 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria'-style show to help find versions of themselves for a Spice Girls musical.
The Spice girls, Mel C (Sporty), Mel B (Scary), Geri Halliwell (Ginger), Victoria Beckham (Posh) and Emma Bunton (Baby) will sit on the panel, pass judgement and give advice to their new counterparts.
The band's former manager Simon Fuller, who owns the rights to the American and British Idol concept, is helping with the idea, which could be named 'Spice Idol'.
A source said: "This is an idea which appeals to all of the original members.
"It's a fantastic new way to broaden out the Spice franchise and cash in on their personalities, their story and their songs.
"The girls would have to work intensely on a TV show for a short period of time but they then launch a musical which could run for months or even years. It will take on a life of its own.
"The concept could even be replicated in other countries. The sky is the limit with this one."
