Ten Of Thousands of bargin hunters have been hitting the streets for the annual post-Christmas mega sales.
Retail Stores were cutting prices by up to 70%, hoping it will be enough to boost sales after a disappointing year.
There was huge scene of consumer confidence on display in Brown Thomas in Dublin's Grafton Street this morning as thousands r ushed to take advantage of many of the 50% reductions available.
The crowds were a welcome boost for retailers. Nigel Blow, CEO Brown Thomas Group, said it was great to see people in the store.
'The all important days were before Christmas rather than after', he said. But he added that 'it's got to be healthy and great to see this many people around spending their hard earned cash!
It looks like Ireland is on the up again!
