A Real Irish Hero.

With no regard for his own safety, Garda Gerard Dunne raced to the rescue of a distressed man in subzero ocean waters last Thursday, off the coast of Whitestrand, in Galway Bay.
In a dramatic rescue, the Garda hauled the man to a mound of rock where the RNLI lifeboats picked up the 2 men. The rescued man who was dazed and near to hypothermia, was given rapid first aid by the lifeboat crew and then was taken to Galway University Hospital via road ambulance. The hero Garda also received treatment in hospital and was released a few hours later.
VeryHappyPig would like Garda Gerard Dunne to get a medal for outstanding bravery. And I don’t think anyone can disagree.
