Irish People Are Living Longer

Life expectancy for men and women in Ireland has increased, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office
Figures for 2005 to 2007 show the life expectancy for men increased by 1.7 years to 76.8 years, while for women, life expectancy increased by 1.3 years to 81.6 years.
Also the gap between male and female life expectancy has reduced.
Irish male life expectancy ranked in joint 12th place in the EU in 2006, while for females it ranked in 16th place.
