Zoo’s Prank Calls Making The Rounds Again
Updated : Feb 8, 2009
Dublin Zoo bosses are reminding people not to be taken in by prank text messages which are making the rounds again and wasting the its resources.
The zoo made its first plea 10 months ago when pranksters began sending texts to people asking them to phone the zoo’s number for an urgent message from C Lion, G Raffe, Anna Conda, or Annie Lyons.
The zoo’s switchboard was jammed by an estimated 100,000 calls in two weeks last April and the fed-up chiefs renewed their call yesterday.
“If you’re calling to speak to Annie Lyons, please hang up, you are the victim of a prank text†states a zoo operator message.
VeryHappyPig loves this story, I know it must be getting annoying for the zoo workers, but it’s nice to see that people still have a sense of humour!
