Intel €50million Investment In Shannon, And Over 130 New Jobs!

Intel has announced a huge new expansion of its research and development facilities in their Shannon Free Zone in County Clare.
The microchip maker's €50m investment will increase its Shannon employment by 134 over the next four years, bringing the total employment at the facility to 300.
The announcement was made by the Tánaiste Mary Coughlan during a visit to the Intel plant at Shannon yesterday.
The investment is being supported by Shannon Development, and its chief executive Vincent Cunnane said “the announcement was a further vote of confidence in Shannon at a competitive location for high-tech knowledge-based investment“.
