Gardai Pick Up International Awards

The Garda Fraud Unit have been given a boost by picking up international awards for busting a laser card scam
The cheque and payment card unit in the fraud squad uncovered a scam late last year in which criminals posed as engineers to change card reading machines in supermarkets to ones which harvest customer details.
So far around 50 devices have been discovered, and the fraud squad have received two awards from the International Association of Financial Investigators for their efforts.
