Pub Landlord Says “Bring Your Own Drinkâ€
Updated : Mar 9, 2009
One landlord in England thinks he has the answer to get punters back into his pub - bring your own booze.
The Raven Pub in Corby is trying to lure people back through its doors so owner Bip Wetherell has relaxed the rules for his adjoining nightclub by allowing customers to bring their own booze in exchange for an entry fee of £5.
"I thought I'd use the low prices as a marketing tool and do BYOB (Bring your own Booze)," Mr Wetherell said. "We launched it last Saturday, had a cracking night, half the people didn't bring their own drink, we had a group of girls, the wine they brought they didn't like so they started buying ours and it has worked a treat."
