Ryanair Offer Prize For Best Cost-Cutting Suggestion
Updated : Mar 15, 2009
Irish budget airline Ryanair hit a nerve when Chief Executive Michael O'Leary proposed the idea of charging for use of onboard toilets. Now, the airline is trying to channel customer annoyance into a creativity contest by offering a thousand euro prize for the best money-saving alternative, serious or tongue-in-cheek.
Some of the cheekiest suggestions to date include charging for toilet paper imprinted with the CEO's face, charging 50 euros to be served by a bikini-clad crew; and charging a euro use oxygen masks.
In 24 hours, Ryanair received 2,500 entries and the competition is still open. Submit your ideas to competition@ryanair.com.
