About the pig

True to form, VeryHappyPig generally isn’t too hard to please. Like his country hog cousins, just give VeryHappyPig a pile of muck or as one famous adage suggests, excrement, and he couldn’t be happier. Similarly, like all pigs, VeryHappyPig is not a fussy eater. He doesn't desire delicacies or any of the finer things in life. Once he can eat, sleep and have a place to relieve himselves, thus making a fine mess for him to rejoice in, VeryHappyPig is, as the name suggests, very happy indeed.

Recently, however, VeryHappyPig's delightfully simple and joyful existence was disturbed and began to become gloom filled. VeryHappyPig found himself under pessimism attack. No matter where he looked, he was bombarded with sad, negative, despairing and basically unhappy news- a problem greatly amplified by an R word banned from this site, but one that ironically rhymes with something all Irish people love to go on, a session! Such a miserable media campaign began to have a negative effect of VeryHappyPig's outlook on life and he began to find himself down more often than not.

As a result and in a bid to regain his previously positive outlook, VeryHappyPig went in search of some uplifting media. It never rains but it pours, however and ironically, after an extensive world-wide search of some much-needed uplifting press ,Very Happy Pig was left in a worse state. There was no quality happy news feeds to be found.

Another week of tragedy-filled newspapers, gloom packed radio and television reports aligned with an abundance of pessimistic predictions, Very Happy Pig was as sad as….. and not so happy in his little muck pile.

So we decided to give VeryHappyPig an alternative to the tragedy bias media by setting up www.veryhappypig.com in his honour. Here at the world's biggest happy realm, we believe goodwill and positive stories are news worthy.

And it seems a lot of Irish people are in agreement with us! Since the site launched earlier this year, it has been averaging 350,000 hits per month, and we have already crossed the one million hit barrier, as Irish people lap up our unique brand of good news. We have got a great reaction from media outlets across Ireland and have been interviewed on several radio stations. We now have three regular weekly good news radio slots on IRadio, Spin 103.8 and Country FM and are continuing to grow.

In June of 2009, we began raising peoples bank balances as well as their spirits by offering them a chance to avail of special offers, sales and deals from a wide range of companies in our Deals Sty.

And there is lots more to come...... So keep coming back to see what else we have in store!

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and happy news feeds.

Feel free to contact us at anytime on info@veryhappypig.com or 0868828872.
