Batt-ing for NUI
Education Minister Batt O’Keefe yesterday turned the sod on the new €15 million research building at NUI Maynooth.
The building to be completed by 2010 will house 350 students, 200 academic staff, researchers and three of the university’s world renowned research institutes.
Yesterday marked the start of NUI’s 10 year Campus Development Plan.

The sale of seal products was banned by the European parliament earlier this week.
The Animal Rights Action Network welcomed the decision as a significant victory for campaigners.
